This seminar will provide an overview of the development and deployment of electric and hydrogen powered vehicles.

Government initiatives through policy and funding to pump prime the shift will be examined. Consideration of the transmission, distribution networks and fuelling infrastructure will be provided, with updates on the London hydrogen bus initiative and the UK wide demonstration projects for electric and low carbon cars.

Civil engineering opportunities will arise through this transition in the fuel / power generation sectors, in the transmission / distribution of these fuels, and in the fuelling point infrastructure.

This seminar will be of interest to local government regulators of highway infrastructure, consultants and contractors who are involved in either energy or transport infrastructure, and electrical utility operators who provide infrastructure to the point of connection.
