19:45 Prestige Dinner

Location

Institution of Civil Engineers
One Great George Street

Content

The development of wave power has mainly taken place since the mid
1970s with a significant increase in activity during the past ten years.
However, there have only been a handful of successful demonstration
projects at the several hundred kilowatt scale. There are a number of
technological and economic challenges which are being addressed by
wave power developers and the next few years should see the
emergence of multi megawatt wave farms.

The lecture will present the design options available to the wave power
developer and these will be illustrated by historic, current and potential
future examples. Particular emphasis will be placed on the research
role universities have played in the development of the industry. Finally
wave power will be placed in context relative to other marine renewable
and its future prospects presented.

Corporate Hospitality

The lecture and prestige dinner can also be used for corporate
hospitality purposes.

Companies increasingly use ICE lectures to welcome potential
clients as well as to say thank you to loyal business partners.
